Zelensky Announces Trilateral Ukraine-Russia-US Talks in UAE

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States will be held in the United Arab Emirates tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. This meeting marks the first direct contact between delegations from the three countries. Zelensky stated that the documents being worked on with Washington to end the Russian invasion are “almost ready,” but admitted that dialogue with former President Trump “is not simple.” He emphasized that Trump’s support is essential to reaching a final solution. Furthermore, Zelensky expressed the view that the security guarantees proposed by Europeans will not be sufficient without the involvement of the United States. He accused Europe of a “lack of political will” and described it as “fragmented” and “lost” when it comes to negotiating with the American President. Zelensky stressed that Europe must become a true global power, but for now remains a “kaleidoscope” of small and medium-sized powers.
