A powerful solar storm, category S4, is impacting Earth and is the strongest since 2003. Giorgos Danos, President of the Space Exploration Organization, explains that the storm emits particles and gases that affect airplanes, telecommunications, electricity, satellites, and astronauts. He highlights the need to predict these phenomena through artificial intelligence for early warning. Internationally, a protocol has been signed to unite humanity in protecting the planet from similar storms. Solar storms are categorized into five levels, with the current one being in the fourth category. Regarding the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights in Cyprus, Mr. Danos states that it is possible to record them with cameras in the mountains, as the human eye cannot perceive the colors of the phenomenon. The storm is expected to continue to affect the planet for some time. The emphasis is on early warning and international cooperation to address the impacts of solar storms, as well as leveraging technology to better understand and predict these events.
