MP Rita Supermann stated before the House Human Rights Committee that Cyprus, like Turkey, has transferred the coordination of human trafficking to the Ministry of Migration. The Deputy Minister of Migration, Nicolas Ioannidis, had previously assured that the ministry could manage the coordination. However, following a Channel 4 report regarding Ayia Napa, the ministry informed the same committee that it cannot intervene with specific actions. This raises questions about the Deputy Minister's previous assurances and the effectiveness of the transfer of responsibilities.
