Την εκτόξευση πυραύλων από υποβρύχιο που φέρεται να βρισκόταν βόρεια της Κύπρου αναδημοσιεύουν μέσα ενημέρωσης, προβάλλοντας και βίντεο Τουρκοκύπριου στα κατεχόμενα.
Δεν είναι γνωστό σε ποια χώρα ανήκει το υποβρύχιο, όμως αναφέρεται πως κατά τη διάρκεια της βιντεοσκόπησης ήταν σε διεθνή ύδατα. Εκτιμάται, παράλληλα, πως ο προορισμός των πυραύλων ήταν το Ιράν, το οποίο απέχει τουλάχιστον 1.200 χιλιόμετρα από την περιοχή.
Οι «αρχές» στα κατεχόμενα απαντούν πως η εκτόξευση δεν έγινε από τα χωρικά ύδατα της Κύπρου.
Σε σχετικό δημοσίευμα για το βίντεο που κυκλοφόρησε, η YENİDÜZEN αναφέρει πως «έχει διαπιστωθεί ότι οι βολές στις εν λόγω εικόνες ελήφθησαν σε διεθνή ύδατα».
Παράλληλα, το «Κέντρο Παραπληροφόρησης της Προεδρίας» των κατεχομένων ανακοίνωσε ότι ο ισχυρισμός που κυκλοφορεί σε ορισμένους λογαριασμούς κοινωνικής δικτύωσης ότι «πολλοί πύραυλοι εκτοξεύτηκαν από υποβρύχιο στα χωρικά ύδατα της ΤΔΒΚ» δεν αντικατοπτρίζει την αλήθεια.
