US to Host Security Conference for Western Hemisphere Military Leaders

The US is hosting a conference of top military officials from 34 countries on February 11th to discuss security issues in the Western Hemisphere. The conference comes just weeks after the US operation in Venezuela that led to the arrest of Nicolás Maduro and his wife. According to the Pentagon, countries in the Western Hemisphere share common values and an interest in regional stability. Simultaneously, Donald Trump announced that Vice President Jay Dee Vance will visit Armenia and Azerbaijan in February, continuing peace efforts following the signing of a peace agreement between the two countries in August.
