University of Nicosia Joins New FIP-UNESCO UNITWIN Centre of Excellence for Europe

The University of Nicosia has joined the new FIP-UNESCO UNITWIN Centre of Excellence for the European Region, established on December 3, 2025. This participation strengthens the university's role in the European academic community and promotes collaboration in pharmaceutical education, research, and documentation. The Centre of Excellence aims to transform pharmaceutical education and science in Europe, leveraging the experience of previous Centres in other parts of the world. The University of Nicosia is represented in the Centre by Dr. Alice Peletidi, who participated as a speaker at the inaugural event. As part of the Centre's activities, the FIP Regional Roadmap will be implemented to identify emerging skills and new forms of assessment of professional activities, as well as to integrate digital health skills into educational programs. The Centre of Excellence comprises leading universities providing pharmaceutical education from across Europe, creating a strong network of academic cooperation and international expertise. The University of Nicosia's participation in the Centre is expected to contribute to the upgrading of pharmaceutical education in Cyprus and Europe.
