Ukrainian Drones Hit Taman Port – Fire and Damage to Russian Infrastructure

The port of Taman in Russia was hit by a Ukrainian drone attack, causing damage to infrastructure and a fire, according to the governor of the region. Simultaneously, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced the capture of the village of Tsvitkove in the Zaporizhzhia region, southeastern Ukraine. The capture of the village of Tsvitkove is part of the ongoing Russian military operation in Ukraine. Russia controls about 75% of the Zaporizhzhia region, however the front lines have remained largely stable since 2022, until the recent advance of Russian forces. The attack on Taman port highlights the escalation of drone attacks in the region, as well as the ongoing tension between Russia and Ukraine. These attacks target strategic infrastructure, causing economic and operational difficulties.
