Published January 23, 2026, 08:31

Two parents in Larissa were found guilty of failing to ensure their children attended school during the COVID-19 pandemic. They were charged alongside 13 other parents, but were convicted due to not ensuring regular school attendance for their children aged 5 to 12 during the 2020-2021 school year. The other 13 were acquitted due to preventative measures they took regarding the health of family members. The two guilty parents received prison sentences of 8 and 10 months respectively, as well as fines of 700 and 900 euros.
