Two Brothers Detained for Six Days Over Attempted Murder in Limassol

Two brothers, aged 30 and 20, have been remanded in custody for six days by the Limassol District Court, following a police request, in connection with the attempted murder of a 36-year-old man that took place on December 20, 2025, on Independence Street. The two men had been wanted and were arrested on January 3rd after a dramatic boat chase in the Ormideia area. Police are also investigating the involvement of their father, who allegedly facilitated the acquisition of the boat used for their escape. Charges include conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, assault, possession of weapons, and carrying a knife. The victim was attacked at a cafe with electric shock devices and then injured with a sharp object, being transported to hospital with a serious shoulder blade injury.
