Trade Unions Seek Meeting with President, Preparing Memorandum on Minimum Wage and Collective Bargaining

The trade unions SEK, PEO, and DEOK are planning to request a meeting with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, to submit a memorandum on various labor issues. The main topics of the memorandum will be the determination of the minimum wage and the implementation of collective bargaining agreements, in accordance with the European Union directive. Additionally, issues related to the criteria for employing workers from third countries will be raised. The three unions held a coordination meeting to prepare the memorandum, which is expected to be ready within the next week. Simultaneously, a meeting of the Labor Advisory Board is scheduled for January 9th, with the participation of the Minister of Labor, trade union organizations, and employer associations.
