Three New Foot-and-Mouth Disease Cases Reported in Cyprus

Three new cases of foot-and-mouth disease have been detected in Cyprus, bringing the total number of infected units to 49. The new cases involve two sheep units with 340 animals and one cattle unit with 118 animals, and were located in the Dromolaxia-Meneou area in the province of Larnaca. The Veterinary Services announced that the cases were identified within the already designated infected zone. Spokesperson for the Veterinary Services, Sotiria Georgiou, confirmed the new cases. The situation is being closely monitored to limit the spread of the disease.
