Thousands of supporters of Nicolás Maduro rallied in Caracas, demanding his and his wife's release from US custody following a US military operation. The demonstration coincided with the anniversary of the fall of the Marcos Pérez Jiménez dictatorship. Interim President Delcy Rodríguez, despite seeking closer ties with Washington, is demanding the return of Maduro and his wife. Protesters accused the US of an illegal and unjust arrest, and also referenced attempts to control Venezuela's oil reserves. Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello assured that Rodríguez has the full support of the ruling party.
