Temperature Plummets as Cold Air Mass Brings Rain and Snow to Cyprus

From tomorrow, Thursday, Cyprus is expected to be affected by a cold air mass, which will bring rain, storms and a significant drop in temperature. The weather forecast predicts isolated showers and light snowfall in the mountains tomorrow. Winds will be northwesterly to northerly, moderate to strong, with the possibility of strengthening locally. The sea will be slightly rough to rough. The temperature will drop noticeably, by about 5 degrees Celsius inland, expected to reach 15 degrees Celsius inland, 16 degrees Celsius on the coast and 3 degrees Celsius in the mountains, where frost will prevail. Similar weather is expected on Friday and Saturday, with isolated showers and light snowfall in the mountains. The temperature is not expected to change significantly over the three-day period and will remain below average climatic values. In the afternoon, the weather will be partly cloudy with local showers, mainly in the western half of the island, while snow or sleet may fall in the higher mountains. The authorities advise citizens to be prepared for the changes in weather conditions and to take the necessary protective measures, especially in the mountains, where frost and snowfall are expected.
