Sweden: Threat to Targets in the Country Increases Due to Middle East War

The Swedish Security Service (Säpo) has announced that the war in the Middle East has increased the threat to American, Jewish and Israeli targets, and to Iranian dissidents in Sweden. The security situation in Sweden has deteriorated since February 28, the start of the war. Säpo's Head of Operations, Fredrik Hallström, stated that the threat is not directed at Sweden itself, but at specific interests and individuals. Particular emphasis is placed on protecting Iranian dissidents, whose influence could be seen as a serious threat to the Iranian regime. Säpo reports that Iran uses cyberspace to monitor individuals, and there is suspicion of recruiting young gang members to commit acts of violence against Israel. Tehran denies the allegations. Sweden considers Iran, China and Russia as the main threats to the country's security.
