The Historical Dialogue and Research Association (HDRA) organized an event to relaunch the 'Imagine' program, with the participation of over 200 people from both communities, as well as the Mayor of Nicosia, Charalambos Prountzos, and the 'mayor' of occupied Nicosia, Mehmet Harmanji. The program aims to foster critical thinking, break down stereotypes, and create a foundation for peace and reconciliation in Cyprus. Mr. Prountzos and Mr. Harmanji expressed their strong support for 'Imagine', emphasizing the importance of mutual understanding for achieving peace and reconciliation. Mr. Harmanji stated that getting to know each other is essential for building relationships of solidarity, while Mr. Prountzos thanked the educators who continue to keep the hope for cooperation alive. During the event, the video 'Let’s Imagine Together!' was presented, a collaboration between HDRA and the production company Neydi Olacağı, which calls for dialogue and cooperation between the two communities. The video appeals to leaders to join forces to restart the program. The 'Imagine' program has involved over 8,200 students and 2,600 teachers in workshops and training courses on peace, anti-racism, and human rights. The Director of HDRA, Loizos Loukaidis, stated that their work will continue regardless of political developments, insisting on the role of civil society in promoting peace and reconciliation.
