Seven Proposals for Tourism, Announced by DISY President After Meeting

The President of DISY, Annita Demetriou, announced seven proposals to address the potential impact of the Middle East crisis on tourism, following a meeting with representatives of key tourism and economic bodies. The proposals concern the preservation of air connectivity, the provision of incentives to support the industry, an international promotion campaign, the utilization of the Cypriot presidency in the EU, support for workers, ensuring travel agents, and the development of a crisis management plan for tourism. Ms. Demetriou stressed the need for responsibility and cooperation to limit the consequences and prepare for any scenario, taking into account the impact on energy prices. Representatives of the bodies expressed concern and emphasized the need for immediate action to maintain Cyprus as a safe destination.
