Rocks on Paphos-Polis Road Due to Collapsed Retaining Wall

Severe weather conditions caused a retaining wall to collapse on the Paphos-Polis road, resulting in rocks falling onto the roadway. The immediate intervention of the authorities, the community council of Tsada, the Paphos Road Management Authority (EOA) and the Provincial Administration, led to the quick clearing of the road and the restoration of traffic. The incident occurred near Tsada and fortunately no injuries were reported, as there was no traffic at the time of the collapse. The collapse of the wall was due to the heavy rainfall that hit the area. A similar incident occurred in the community of Kallepeia, where a wall collapsed due to the large amount of water. Again, there were no injuries or property damage. The Paphos Road Management Authority (EOA) is cooperating with the Kallepeia community to repair the damage and take preventive measures to avoid new collapses.
