Refugee Committee Requests Scoring Data for TC Properties

The Parliamentary Committee on Refugees requested the Director of the Turkish Cypriot Property Management Service to submit the scoring list for the allocation of Turkish Cypriot houses and commercial properties, in order to ensure transparency in the process. The discussion took place at a Committee meeting in the House of Representatives. The Committee examined the process of allocating housing and commercial space, as well as delays in subsidies for the cultivation of Turkish Cypriot land. Committee President Nikos Kettiros stated that transparency would enhance public trust and that applicants would receive a serial number to track results. Issues were raised regarding the rents of commercial properties, with the Committee seeking a fairer approach, avoiding both excessively low and excessively high rents. The scoring process was generally considered fair, but the Committee wants to ensure that applicants know the reasons why they were selected or rejected.
