Rain Fills the Land, But Not Paphos Reservoirs

Despite recent rainfall that has quenched the land, the situation in the Paphos reservoirs remains critical. The reservoir levels are significantly lower compared to the same period last year. The Chionistra dam, the largest in the province, is only 8.2% full, while the other dams present a similar picture. Only the Pomo dam has a slightly higher filling rate this year, due to restrictions on irrigation. The only hope for improving the situation is the snow covering the Troodos Mountains.
