Aleko Tryfonidis, the new President of the Transport Committee, is re-submitting the proposal of his predecessor, Marinos Mousiouttas, for a complete ban on scooters from Cypriot roads. The proposal is based on the lack of enforcement of legislation and the absence of adequate infrastructure, making scooter traffic dangerous for citizens. Mr. Tryfonidis states that he sees dangerous situations with scooters daily, such as children traveling in the opposite direction on one-way streets. He emphasizes the need for stricter control and adherence to schedules for major projects in order to improve traffic conditions and prevent accidents.
