President: Target is 2027-2028 for First Sale of Cypriot Gas to Europe via Egypt
President Christodoulides stated that the target is for the first sale of Cypriot natural gas to Europe, via Egypt, to take place around 2027-2028. The statement was made after his participation in the “Run for Autism” charity run in Ayia Napa. The President's visit to Egypt on Monday focuses exclusively on energy issues, including the signing of an agreement. President Christodoulides pointed out that the first discovery of natural gas in Cyprus' EEZ was made in 2011, but its exploitation has been delayed for many years.
