The President of the Republic presented the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU during the visit of the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to Limassol. The main pillars of the presidency include strengthening security and defense, promoting competitiveness and social cohesion, preparing for accession to the Schengen area, resolving the Cyprus issue, and strategic cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean. The President emphasized the importance of close cooperation with the European Commission to achieve tangible results and promote European integration. President von der Leyen praised Cyprus's expertise in dialogue and negotiation, as well as the importance of stability in the region.
