President Expresses Grief for the Death of Vasiliou - “He Expanded the Country’s International Footprint”

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, issued a written statement expressing his grief over the death of former President George Vasiliou. In his statement, President Christodoulides stated that Vasiliou's name was associated with economic development, social progress, and the modernization of Cyprus. He highlighted Vasiliou's crucial contribution to Cyprus's accession to the European Union and his dedication to resolving the Cyprus issue. Additionally, he recognized the promotion of policies for the outward orientation of the economy, the founding of the University of Cyprus, and the international projection of Cyprus under Vasiliou's presidency. The President expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.
