President Christodoulides Speaks with Starmer - "Cyprus Was Not a Target"

President Christodoulides spoke by telephone with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer regarding developments in the region. Starmer confirmed that Cyprus was not the target of the missiles launched by Iran. The two leaders are maintaining direct communication and the relevant Cypriot authorities are closely monitoring the situation. Earlier, British Defence Secretary John Healey had reported that two Iranian missiles were launched towards Cyprus, but were intercepted by British fighter jets that took off from bases in Cyprus and Qatar. Britain is protecting its bases in Cyprus and Qatar from potential Iranian attacks.
