President Christodoulides Presents Cypriot Presidency Priorities to European Parliament

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, presented the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU to the European Parliament. He emphasized that unity is Europe's greatest strength and essential for addressing challenges. The Presidency's program is structured around five pillars: Autonomy through Security, Defence and Preparedness, Autonomy through Competitiveness, An Autonomous Union Open to the World (with a focus on enlargement), the Green and Digital Transition, and Social Justice. President Christodoulides highlighted the need to strengthen European security architecture, especially after the war in Ukraine, and emphasized the importance of enlargement towards the Western Balkans, Turkey, Ukraine and Moldova. He expressed Cyprus's full support for Denmark and the people of Greenland.
