Potential Iranian Targets - US Military Presence Map in the Middle East

The United States maintains a significant military presence in the Middle East, which could be a target for potential Iranian retaliation in the event of a US attack on Iran. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has troops and facilities in various countries in the region. In Bahrain, the US Navy's 5th Fleet and the headquarters of the Central Command Naval Forces are located. Bahrain's port can accommodate large warships, including aircraft carriers. In Iraq, US forces are located in the autonomous Kurdish region as part of the international coalition against ISIS, but their mission is expected to end soon. They have already withdrawn from facilities in federal Iraq. Kuwait hosts Camp Arifjan (CENTCOM's forward land forces headquarters) and Ali al-Salem Air Base, a major hub for US air transport and combat power. In Qatar, Al Udeid Air Base hosts CENTCOM forward elements and air forces. Finally, in Syria, the US maintained troops against ISIS but is in the process of withdrawing.
