Police Raids on Businesses in Limassol Result in Arrests and Over €26,000 in Fines

Police conducted a series of inspections on businesses in Limassol, resulting in the arrest of three individuals and the imposition of fines exceeding €26,000. The inspections, carried out in collaboration with officials from the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance and the Tax Department, focused primarily on operating without a license, illegal employment, and undeclared work. A total of 15 premises were inspected, with five found to be operating without the required permit. In addition, three people were arrested for illegal stay in the Republic of Cyprus and another three for illegal employment/occupation. Eight individuals were reported for undeclared work and were fined a total of €26,800, while two businesses were reported for not issuing receipts. These inspections are part of a broader effort by the Police to combat illegal activities and protect workers. The Police are committed to continuing targeted inspections of businesses to ensure legality and compliance with labor laws.
