Police Raid Barber Shops and Restaurants Run by Foreign Nationals: Arrests, Fines, Licenses and Undeclared Work

The Limassol Police, in a coordinated operation with other services, conducted checks on barber shops and restaurants run by foreign nationals. During the checks, it was found that four barber shops were operating without a license and in violation of closing hours, while one restaurant was also operating without a license. Three foreign nationals were arrested for illegal stay, while two cases of illegal employment were found with the arrest of three foreign nationals. Fines totaling €26,800 were imposed on eight foreign nationals for undeclared work. Additionally, two businesses were reported for not issuing receipts and not using an electronic payment machine. A total of 15 barber shops and one restaurant were checked, and approximately 50 people were investigated. The authorities announced that they will intensify checks in the future.
