Plans for Million-Euro Projects at Paralimni Lake: Pedestrian Path, Bike Lane and Squares Planned by the Municipality

The Municipality of Paralimni is developing plans to enhance Paralimni Lake, with projects estimated to cost several million euros. The plans include the creation of a perimeter pedestrian path, bike lane, squares, and new nature observation points. Mayor Giorgos Nicolettos states that meetings have already been held with relevant government agencies and a request has been submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture for funding the study, while European funds will also be explored. Paralimni Lake has significant ecological and environmental value, hosts rare species, and is an important wetland for Cyprus. The municipality also seeks to complete the expropriations that were interrupted during the economic crisis and replenish the aquifer.
