Minister of Justice Kosti Fytiris stated that the allegations made by Annie Alexui regarding organized crime and internal issues within the Police will be investigated, but emphasized the need for testimonies and written depositions for the Police and Prosecution to take action. He highlighted the government's intention to remove any “rotten apples” within the Police force. Mr. Fytiris mentioned that all information needs to be evaluated, while stressing the need for legal procedures and rules, pointing out that political leadership cannot intervene in investigations or the Attorney General's Office. He also emphasized that the Police and the Prosecution must operate based on laws and regulations. Additionally, he stated that he expects the Police to ensure public safety and the Attorney General’s Office to put lawbreakers in prison. Finally, he referred to the possibility of taking a deposition from Annie Alexui in Russia, clarifying that the political direction is to investigate and evaluate all information.
