Photovoltaics: Absence of Grants Does Not Block Installations

The Cyprus Association of Renewable Energy Companies (CEREA) clarifies that the absence of a new Grant Scheme does not prevent households from proceeding with the installation of photovoltaics for self-consumption. Consumers can install photovoltaics and reduce their energy costs without losing their right to participate in future schemes. The confusion arose from the incorrect equating of Grant Schemes with the Self-Consumption Framework. From January 1, 2026, the way surplus energy is compensated will change, but the production and consumption offset remains in effect. In addition, the new tax reform offers tax incentives for energy upgrading of homes, including the installation of photovoltaics.
