Partnership to Support Children with Cancer-Stricken Parents

The ‘Hope For Children’ CRC Policy Center (HFC) and the German Medical Institute (GMI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support children whose parents have been diagnosed with cancer or have passed away. The collaboration will focus on the psychosocial care of children, integrating it into a comprehensive framework of medical and social support for the entire family. The program will include identifying children in need, scientifically assessing their needs, providing targeted interventions, empowering healthcare professionals, and piloting actions in schools. This collaboration recognizes the need for targeted support for children affected by their parents' cancer, as they are often overlooked and experience significant psychological effects.
