Την Τετάρτη η Κοινοβουλευτική Επιτροπή Παιδείας συζήτησε επί της αρχής πρόταση νόμου των Βουλευτών του ΔΗΚΟ, Παύλου Μυλωνά και Χρύσανθου Σαββίδη, σύμφωνα με την οποία η ισοτιμία και αντιστοιχία ενός προγράμματος σπουδών θα περιλαμβάνει τουλάχιστον τα τρία πέμπτα των απαιτούμενων μαθημάτων του αντίστοιχου κλάδου που προσφέρεται σε δημόσια εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα ανώτερης εκπαίδευσης στην Κύπρο ή στην Ελλάδα.
Ο Βουλευτής του ΑΚΕΛ, Χρίστος Χριστόφιας, απευθυνόμενος προς την εκπρόσωπο της Νομικής Υπηρεσίας, υπέδειξε ότι θα έπρεπε να είχε κατατεθεί νομοσχέδιο προς επίλυση του προβλήματος που παρατηρείται σε θέματα αντιστοιχίας των προγραμμάτων σπουδών.
Απαντώντας στον κ. Χριστόφια, οι εκπρόσωποι της Νομικής Υπηρεσίας και του ΚΥΣΑΤΣ, ανέφεραν ότι έχει ολοκληρωθεί ο νομοτεχνικός έλεγχος του νομοσχεδίου του ΚΥΣΑΤΣ, προσθέτοντας ότι το νομοσχέδιο έχει υποβληθεί στο Υπουργείο Παιδείας.
Απαντώντας σε ερώτηση των Βουλευτών του ΔΗΚΟ, Παύλου Μυλωνά και Χρύσανθου Σαββίδη, οι εκπρόσωποι της Νομικής Υπηρεσίας και του ΚΥΣΑΤΣ είπαν ότι η πρόταση νόμου των δύο Βουλευτών θα μπορούσε να ενσωματωθεί στο νομοσχέδιο ως πρόνοιά του.
Τα μέλη της Επιτροπής Παιδείας συμφώνησαν με τις εκπροσώπους της Νομικής Υπηρεσίας και του ΚΥΣΑΤΣ, σημειώνοντας ότι η πρόταση νόμου δεν θα οδηγηθεί στην Ολομέλεια, εν αναμονή της τροποποίησης του νομοσχεδίου.

Parliamentary Committee Discusses Bill on Equivalence of Study Programs
The Parliamentary Committee on Education discussed a bill aimed at establishing criteria for the equivalence and correspondence of study programs, requiring at least three-fifths of the required courses to be common with similar programs in public institutions in Cyprus or Greece. This proposal was accepted by the committee members, resulting in a decision to postpone the advancement of the original bill to the Plenary Session until the CYATS bill is amended. The discussion focused on the need for clear and objective criteria for recognizing academic qualifications to avoid injustices and ensure the credibility of the education system. The bill proposed by the DISY MPs was considered an improvement over the existing framework but was deemed preferable to incorporate it into a broader bill covering the entire spectrum of issues related to the equivalence and correspondence of study programs. The decision to postpone the advancement of the original bill to the Plenary Session indicates an intention for a more comprehensive and coherent approach to the issue of recognizing academic qualifications, aiming to ensure the quality and reliability of education in Cyprus.
