PACE Delegation Meets with President Christodoulides

President Nikos Christodoulides met with the Presidential Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Petra Bayer. During the meeting, PACE expressed its solidarity with Cyprus and the Cypriot people, emphasizing that Cyprus remains a safe place. The agenda of the meeting included the Cyprus issue, the war in Iran, and the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency in the Council of the EU. President Christodoulides highlighted Cyprus's humanitarian role in the region and the priority of citizen safety. MP Giorgos Loukaides (AKEL) stated that the Committee's presence in Cyprus is linked to Cyprus's presidency of the Council of the EU, developments in the Cyprus issue, and the war in Iran, while also expressing PACE's solidarity. PACE President Petra Bayer emphasized the defense of PACE's values, such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, while also expressing concern about the war in Iran and Europe's increasing involvement in it. PACE reaffirmed its solidarity with Cyprus and its belief that it remains a safe destination.
