New Police Sweep Leads to 14 Arrests in One Night

The Cyprus Police carried out extensive patrols across the island last night, aiming to prevent criminal activity, ensure public order, and enhance citizens' sense of security. During the patrols, 14 individuals were arrested for various offenses, including conspiracy to commit a felony, assault causing grievous bodily harm, and illegal stay on the island. During the checks, 373 vehicles were stopped and 91 individuals were checked, while 12 premises were inspected. 134 fines were issued for various traffic violations, and 5 cases of violations are being investigated. Of the fines, 25 were for speeding. 5 vehicles were confiscated. The targeted policing operations continue daily, with increased police presence and immediate action, in order to protect citizens and maintain public order.
