New Poetry Collection by Athena Temvriou Explores the Depths of the Sea

The poetry collection "Ἐν Ἀρχῇ ἦν ἡ Θάλασσα" (In the Beginning was the Sea) by Athena Temvriou is released, highlighting the beauty and spiritual depth of the sea, as well as the human fate. The collection uses allegorical style and explores the metaphysical dimension of water, connecting the ancient symbolism of the sea with modern life. Temvriou has previously published poems and studies in literary journals and anthologies in Cyprus and abroad, and has been awarded in poetry competitions, with her works translated into various languages. Athena Temvriou holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Language from the State University of New York and a Master's degree from the University of Sussex. Her new collection adds to her previous works: "Of Homeland and Youth" (1997), "Transition" (2009), and "Among the Sounds" (2017).
