National Guard Meets with AHEPA, AHI and Jewish Organizations

The Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Theodorou, welcomed delegations from the Greek-American organizations AHEPA and AHI, as well as from the American Jewish organizations B’nai B’rith International and Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. The meeting took place at the General Staff Headquarters (GEEF) on Friday, February 27, 2026. The delegations were briefed on the mission and work of the National Guard, followed by an exchange of views on international developments and security challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Chief of the National Guard referred to contemporary threats and the ongoing upgrade of Cyprus's defense cooperation with the United States and Israel. It was emphasized that these collaborations are part of a broader network of strategic partnerships, aiming to strengthen Cyprus's role as a pillar of stability and security in the region. The meeting highlights the importance of international alliances and cooperation to address security challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean. The National Guard assured the visitors of its readiness to contribute to safeguarding stability and security in the region, in close cooperation with its international partners.
