Mitsotakis to Erdogan on Cyprus: Restarting dialogue from 2017

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, as part of the 6th High-Level Cooperation Council between Greece and Turkey. Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of dialogue and good neighborly relations, especially in the current international environment. He referred to the successful approach of the three pillars (political dialogue, positive agenda, confidence-building measures) that has prevented tensions and strengthened cooperation. He also mentioned the cooperation on the temporary visa issuance program for Turkish visitors to the Aegean islands. Regarding Cyprus, Mitsotakis expressed hope for a restart of the dialogue from 2017, within the framework of the UN Security Council resolutions.
