Mitsotakis: The Flag and Our Heart are with Cyprus

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with PASOK-KINAl President Nikos Androulakis in Parliament to discuss developments in the Middle East, with particular emphasis on the situation in Cyprus. Mitsotakis stressed that Cyprus is in the heart and mind of Greece. During the meeting, the Prime Minister informed Androulakis of the priorities of the Greek government, which include the protection and safe repatriation of stranded Greeks, the safety of sailors, and the provision of additional military assistance and support to Cyprus. Mitsotakis stated that any threat to an EU country is unacceptable and that Greek diplomacy and the Armed Forces are at the service of Hellenism. He expressed hope for a rapid de-escalation of the situation, pointing out the potential economic consequences. Nikos Androulakis requested information on the country's preparedness for the potential consequences of the turmoil in the Middle East and emphasized the importance of military presence in the Eastern Mediterranean for the protection of Hellenism, especially in Cyprus. He opposed Greece's involvement in a possible war between Israel, the US and Iran and proposed taking initiatives at European level.
