Meteorological Department: Snowfall Continues in Troodos, Rainfall at 31%

Michalis Mouskos, Senior Officer of the Cyprus Meteorological Service, stated that the snowfall in Troodos continues but will gradually subside in the coming hours. He highlighted the importance of the weekend's rainfall, which reached 31% of the expected amount for January, compared to 9% until Friday. Currently, the snow on the top of Troodos is about 3-4 centimeters, but is expected to increase, possibly reaching 10 centimeters. Snowfall will continue intermittently until Tuesday evening, while a temperature increase is expected from Wednesday. Mr. Mouskos emphasized that the snow cover is very important for the aquifer, as it melts slowly and strengthens the flows to the dams.
