Lemesos Tourist Destination on a Very Good Trajectory

The tourist destination of Limassol is on a very good trajectory and is highly competitive in the Mediterranean, according to Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis. Mr. Koumis chaired a meeting at the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with representatives of local authorities and the tourism industry, with the aim of upgrading tourism services. The Deputy Ministry of Tourism has requested memoranda from local authorities, based on ten points, for the upgrading of individual destinations. Limassol records a visitation rate of 12.4%, while it is recognized as a competitive destination with excellent reviews. The improvement is noticeable even during the winter period. The meeting highlighted the need to upgrade public spaces, such as the Tsirion Stadium and the coastal front, as well as the completion of the Aktia Road, which is expected to give a new dynamic to tourism. The hotels in Limassol are of a high standard and the destination appeals to visitors with higher income levels. It is noted that a significant percentage of visitors stay with relatives and friends, which affects the average per capita expenditure. The Deputy Ministry of Tourism has increased tourism activities in recent years and expects further improvements in the future. In summary, Limassol is a dynamic and competitive tourist destination with positive prospects. Cooperation between the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and local authorities is crucial for further upgrading tourism services and strengthening the region's economy.
