Από φυσικό αέριο προκλήθηκε, σύμφωνα με τις πρώτες εκτιμήσεις, η έκρηξη στο Φατίχ της Κωνσταντινούπολης, την τελευταία ημέρα του Μπαϊραμιού, από την οποία κατέρρευσαν δύο τριώροφα κτήρια.
Ο νομάρχης Κωνσταντινούπολης, Νταβούτ Γκιουλ, δήλωσε ότι συνολικά 9 άτομα παγιδεύτηκαν κάτω από τα ερείπια. Από αυτά, 8 απεγκλωβίστηκαν τραυματισμένα, ενώ οι προσπάθειες για τον εντοπισμό και τη διάσωση ενός ακόμη ατόμου βρίσκονται σε εξέλιξη.
Το περιστατικό σημειώθηκε στη συνοικία Αϊβανσαράι, στην οδό Έμπε. Άμεσα κινητοποιήθηκαν ισχυρές δυνάμεις της πυροσβεστικής, της πολιτικής προστασίας (AFAD) και της Αστυνομίας,.

Σύμφωνα με τον νομάρχη, επτά άτομα μεταφέρθηκαν στο νοσοκομείο χωρίς η ζωή τους να διατρέχει κίνδυνο.
«Η έκρηξη, που εκτιμάται ότι προκλήθηκε από φυσικό αέριο, οδήγησε σε κατάρρευση δύο γειτονικών κτηρίων. Πρώτη μας προτεραιότητα είναι να απεγκλωβίσουμε τους συμπολίτες μας και να διασφαλίσουμε τη θεραπεία τους», ανέφερε.
Σε ανακοίνωση της νομαρχίας επιβεβαιώνεται ότι η έκρηξη σημειώθηκε σήμερα γύρω στις 12:00 το μεσημέρι και ότι είχε ως αποτέλεσμα την κατάρρευση των δύο κτηρίων. Οι αρχές συνεχίζουν τις έρευνες για τα ακριβή αίτια του συμβάντος, ενώ στην περιοχή έχουν ληφθεί αυξημένα μέτρα ασφαλείας.

Istanbul Building Collapse: Explosion Caused by Natural Gas, Rescue Efforts Underway
An explosion caused by natural gas led to the collapse of two three-story buildings in the Fatih district of Istanbul on the last day of Bayram. According to Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, a total of nine people were trapped under the rubble. So far, eight people have been rescued with injuries, while efforts to locate and rescue the ninth person continue. The explosion occurred in the Aivansaray neighborhood, on Embe Street, and mobilized strong forces from the fire department, civil protection (AFAD), and the police. Seven of the injured were taken to hospital without being in life-threatening condition. The governor stated that the priority is to rescue the trapped people and provide medical care. Authorities continue to investigate the exact cause of the explosion, while increased security measures have been taken in the area. According to the governor's announcement, the explosion occurred around 12:00 pm. The collapse of the two buildings caused concern among residents of the area, while authorities are trying to restore normalcy.
