Heavy Rains and Snow Disrupt Traffic in Cyprus

Heavy rainfall in Limassol and Paphos is causing traffic problems, with water flow and accumulation on sections of the Limassol-Paphos highway and the bypass road. Overflowing streams on the Limassol-Paphos highway, near the Agios Silas exit, have created significant water accumulation, making the road dangerous in both directions. Snowfall is occurring in Troodos, with slippery road surfaces and limited visibility due to fog. Roads in the higher mountainous areas are open only to 4x4 vehicles or those with snow chains. Police advise drivers to be particularly careful, drive at low speeds, maintain a safe distance, and have their vehicle lights on.
