Heavy Rainfall 'Gold' Across Cyprus as Low-Pressure System Recedes

The deep low-pressure system that affected Cyprus over the weekend is gradually receding, leaving behind significant rainfall across the island. The highest rainfall amounts were recorded in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas, reaching up to 65 millimeters in some regions. This rainfall is expected to replenish Cyprus's dam reserves, which had decreased. Simultaneously, snowfall occurred in the Troodos Mountains, with light snow covering the Jubilee Hotel area and a greater depth at the Troodos Ski Centre. The weather forecast predicts a new period of unsettled weather from Wednesday evening to Thursday, with intermittent rains continuing until the end of the week.
