Health Hazard at Green Point in Paphos - Mountains of Waste Cause Concern

The Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Cooperation is reporting a serious public health and environmental degradation issue at the Green Point in Agia Varvara, Paphos. According to the complaint, the site has turned into an uncontrolled landfill with mountains of waste, dead animals, and a strong stench. This situation creates breeding grounds for infection that threaten public health and the environment. The Movement of Ecologists states that it had informed the relevant authorities a year ago, but without any response or restoration of the site. This image, according to the Movement, exposes Cyprus, especially during a period when it holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union. Immediate action is requested from the Green Point managers, the Provincial Self-Governing Authority, and the Department of Environment to restore hygiene and the smooth operation of the site. The Movement of Ecologists calls for answers within a short period of time, emphasizing that the situation has exceeded all limits of tolerance and requires immediate attention.
