Harmancı: Proposes Crossings for Students from Ledra Palace Checkpoint

The “mayor” of occupied Nicosia, Mehmet Harmancı, proposed the creation of a new crossing point in the capital, arguing for the need to exert pressure to resolve the issue. He even advocated for taking a unilateral step if deemed necessary, and proposed as an immediate measure allowing students to cross with vehicles from the Ledra Palace checkpoint. Mr. Harmancı estimated that the current works in Agios Dometios are not sufficient to relieve traffic congestion. In addition, he predicted rapid political developments in the occupied territories, forecasting early “elections” within the next few months. Finally, he referred to an improvement in the economic indicators of the “municipality” and announced investments of 1 billion TL for infrastructure projects.
