Handcuffs for 8: Arrested for Theft, Damage and Other Offenses – 15 Drivers Positive for Drug Tests

The Cyprus Police conducted extensive patrols and checks throughout Cyprus, aiming to prevent criminal activity and increase citizens' sense of security. During the operations, eight people were arrested for offenses such as theft and causing damage. A total of 595 vehicles and 796 individuals were checked, while 23 checks were carried out on premises. These checks resulted in two complaints. In addition, 314 traffic violations were reported, of which 188 concerned speeding. Notably, 19 drivers tested positive for alcohol and 15 drivers tested positive for drugs. Six vehicles were also seized. These operations are part of an ongoing effort by the Police to combat crime and ensure public order. The Police are committed to continuing targeted patrols and checks, with increased presence on the streets, in order to protect citizens and ensure a safe environment for all.
