Government: Fuel Prices Remain Low in Cyprus - Situation at Petrol Stations

The government is closely monitoring the situation with fuel and energy prices, taking into account the impact of the war in the Middle East. Despite increases, the price of 95 unleaded petrol in Cyprus remains the second lowest in the European Union, while the price of diesel is the fourth lowest. Existing support measures, such as electricity subsidies and zero VAT on basic goods, remain in effect. The government is considering extending the measures for reduced VAT, while emphasizing the importance of the country's strong fiscal margins. Furthermore, the government assures that the situation is under control and that Cyprus remains a safe and quality tourist destination.
