Golden Dawn: Finally Convicted as a Criminal Organization – All 42 Defendants Found Guilty

The Athens Court of Appeal has definitively convicted all 42 defendants in the Golden Dawn trial, confirming the organization's status as a criminal enterprise. The decision, issued after a lengthy trial, upheld the prosecutor's recommendation and the initial 2020 verdict. The case involved a series of serious crimes, including the 2013 murder of anti-fascist musician Pavlos Fyssas and the 2012 attempted murder of an Egyptian fisherman. Former MPs and leading members of Golden Dawn were among those convicted of leading or belonging to the criminal organization, as well as members involved in attacks by assault squads. Following the verdict, several convicted individuals are expected to be imprisoned, while appeals for harsher sentences are also being considered.
