From Rural Village to Modern Community: Acheleia's Development

Acheleia, a village in the Paphos district, is experiencing significant development while maintaining its traditional character. Deputy Mayor Neofytos Stylianou states that the community has not been affected by urbanization and maintains a stable population. Its geographical location, close to Paphos and the international airport, makes it attractive. Approximately 200 residents live in Acheleia, and many plots of land have been granted in recent years, demonstrating the area's dynamism. Despite the fact that 90% of the land belongs to the state and the Monastery of Agios Neophytos, development continues. The population consists of former farmers and newer couples working in various sectors. Acheleia has fertile plains with diverse crops and has benefited from modern irrigation projects, hosting important units of the Ministry of Agriculture.
